iConga FAQs

Does it cost anything to join iConga?

Joining iConga is free of charge, although to get the discounts and benefits you need to be an Advantage Member

How much does it cost to be an Advantage Member?

Only £1.99 per month (which includes VAT) on a monthly renewable basis

How can I become an Advantage Member?

Simply click on the "Upgrade" links from your profile page, or from the discounts page, and follow the instructions

Do I need to have a PayPal account?

No, you can still sign up with your debit/credit card via the PayPal site

Is there a minimum term to be an Advantage Member?

No, there is no minimum term. Membership is on a monthly renewable basis and can be cancelled at any time.

Is it easy to cancel?

Yes. Simply click on Cancel Membership at the bottom right hand side of your homepage and your subscription is instantly cancelled. There is no notice period needed.

When does the money leave my account?

When you sign-up as a paying member the first payment is not taken from your account for five days.

I want to apply for Commission-free Life Insurance or PHI why do I need a different level of membership?

There are admin costs associated with arranging Life and PHI cover and so we require that members simply pay for 12 months of membership up front.

Why are there two levels of paying membership?

This is to allow people to decide whether they wish to participate in the revenue sharing programme. Should a member not wish to earn referral fees for introducing new Advantage Members to the site they can still invite their friends and family if they wish, but they will not receive any referral fees as a consequence.

When can I access the discounts?

Once you have upgraded to Advantage Membership you can apply for discounted insurance straight away. For some of the other discounts you will receive a welcome email with your username and password to access the iConga Advantage site, which is a secure site, where you can access the discounts. Please allow 2-3 working days to receive your username and password.

What is the referral scheme?

We believe that it is fair to reward those that help to build the network, so we have allocated a portion of the fees that we earn to a referral scheme that is paid out to members (rather than spend the money on advertising and PR).
The referral scheme allows iConga members to benefit directly from the introductions that they make. When an Advantage Member signs up as a consequence of an introduction, then the introducing member receives £0.15 per month, per Advantage Member, introduced. The original introducing member will also earn £0.15 per month from the referrals of their referrals, down to 5 levels away, allowing them to build a recurring income.
There is more information on the referral scheme here

Is there a limit to the number of introductions that I can make?

No, you can introduce as many people as you like but, you will only receive referral fees for those that upgrade to Advantage Membership status.

Is this a get-rich-quick scheme?

No, this is a social network and a discount club where the aim is to provide as much benefit to our members as we can. We offer a huge range of discounts for members, plus free benefits, which we believe represents outstanding value and worth many, many times the cost of the monthly Advantage Membership fee of £2.95. These offers are not available to the general public and many discounts and offers are exclusive to iConga. Members can build their network by inviting others and, since we all want to help others save money, there is an even better reason for members to introduce their friends to iConga so that they can make the same great savings as well.
Members can earn a recurring income, if they choose, from introductions that they make but it is illegal for a promoter or a participant to persuade anyone to make a payment by promising benefits from getting others to join the scheme.

Are Advantage Plus Members employees of iConga?

No, iConga Membership does not constitute an offer of employment. Members are independent and are not purchasers of a franchise. The Member agreement, as outlined in the Terms of Use, between iConga and its Members does not constitute an employer/employee, agency, partnership or joint venture relationship. Members shall have no legal right or authority to bind iConga or ISMA to any obligation or to make representations or warranties on behalf of iConga or ISMA. The Member shall be responsible for filing all necessary tax returns and paying all applicable taxes.

When will I be paid?

Referral fees are paid every other month once the referral fees owed are greater than £20

What are the benefits that come with Advantage Membership apart from access to the discounts?

From your second month as an Advantage Member you receive free Identity Theft cover.

Who operates iConga?

iConga is owned and operated by Insurance Services Marketing Alliance Limited (ISMA) which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA)

How much money will I save as an Advantage Member?

That depends entirely on how you use your membership. Aside from the free ID theft cover (which would retail somewhere between £20 - £25 pa) we believe a typical member should save £100s per year. For example if you regularly shop at Sainsburys or ASDA then you can get 5% off all your shopping with the vouchers. So if you spend £100 per week on groceries you will save £5 per week.
Also using the vouchers means that you benefit from all the other discounts available in store for added savings.
If you fill up with petrol at a Sainsburys petrol stations then you can also use your vouchers to get 5% off petrol.
Below is an example table of savings
